Zachary Zarate Huff, 24, died March 14, 2017 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in College Station, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 A.M., Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Austin Dommert will officiate the service, and interment will follow in the College Station Memorial Cemetery, 3800 Raymond Stotzer Parkway, College Station, Texas 77845. A public visitation will be held from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday, March 16th at the Madisonville Funeral Home.
Zachary was born on November 11, 1992 in Bryan, Texas. Zach grew up in Madisonville, Texas and later relocated back to College Station. He became a bartender and also worked as a cook so that he could pursue his love of serving people. He truly loved people and never met a stranger. Zachs greatest passion was animals. He loved his pets. His mother uses the term pets loosely, because if it was alive and Zach could catch it, then it became his pet. Zach had a heart of gold and was a free loving spirit. His motto was Live life with no regretsthe good and the badjust live life to the fullest.
Zach is survived by his mother and step-father, Audrea & Greg Gannaway; father and step-mother, Jerry & Laura Huff; maternal grandparents, Jocelyne Zarate and Dale & Helen Kovacs; paternal grandparents, Jerry & Nancy Huff; brothers, Daniel Gannaway, Derian Huff & Cade Huff and sisters, Alyssa Huff & Makayla Huff. He is also survived by his aunt, Bridget Drake; cousins, Natalie Drake & Kaleb Matejka and aunt & uncle, Chad & Jill Huff.
Zach was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Zarate and great grandmother, Ilene Plymate.
Serving as pallbearers are Nic Townsend, Jamie Steindhl, Colton Brown, Petey Meserlian, Richard Rodriguez & Broadie Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Rufus Refuge, P.O. Box 1385, Madisonville, Texas 77864; the Bryan Animal Center, (979) 209-5260 or the Aggieland Humane Society, (979) 775-5755.
