William Wayne "Bill" Teer

William Wayne “Bill” Teer, 85, of Leona, Texas passed away December 11, 2021 in Madisonville, Texas. He was born April 25, 1936 in Kirvin, Texas to William Andrew and Alice Lucille (Lopes) Teer. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army and earned his Bachelors of Engineering degree from the University of Texas in 1964.

He worked for Brown and Root which took his family all over the United States. In 1984, he made Leon County his permanent home and was a founder of the Southeast Water Supply Company which he also managed for several years.

In his later years, Bill enjoyed lunching at Pecan Grove and visiting with longtime friends at the Leona General Store. He was a member of Evans Chapel Methodist Church in Leona, Texas.

Bill was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Alice Arita Teer; sons, Matthew & Mark Teer and sister, Shirley Rausin. He is survived by daughter, Gina (Keith) Saunders of Highlands; and grandchildren, Dustin Simpson of Kyle, Breanna (John) Masklee of Madison, NJ, Dawson Saunders (USMC) of Cherrypoint, NC and Caleb Saunders (USMC) of Twentynine Palms, CA.
