William Thomas Ferrell, 84, of Marquez, Texas, passed away on the evening of May 13, 2019 in Marquez. He was born January 19, 1935 in Port Isabel, Texas to Lester Franklin and Alice (Wedell) Ferrell.
Tom served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He later worked as a diesel mechanic. Tom and his wife had resided in Marquez for the past twenty-four years. He enjoyed country life, especially watching the wildlife inhabiting his property. Tom could sit on the porch for hours at a time doing this.
When he was younger, Tom liked fixing things. Due to his training as a diesel mechanic there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix, and he always found a way to keep things around the house in working order. He was an extremely handy person. Tom had also enjoyed deer hunting during all of his life.
Tom was preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother and one step-brother. He is survived by his wife, Mary “Susie” Ferrell and children, Juli, Shirley, Jon and Keri, as well as, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
