Bill Stepherson, age 64, peacefully passed away at his home early Sunday morning, September 13, 2020. He was born August 20, 1956 in Brownsville, Texas to Roy Shelton & Minnie Louise (Robinson) Stepherson. He lived most of his life in the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas, but had lived in Oakwood for the past four months, coming from La Feria, Texas.
He loved to go fishing, boating and working on his 1955 Gasser. A recent interest was blacksmithing and creating with his mini forge. He spent the last 30+ years of his life in the towing industry as a heavy duty recovery tow truck operator. He especially loved working with the heavy recovery side of towing. The love he had for his family was immeasurable, he will be missed more than he could have imagined by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bill was preceded in death by both of his parents; step-mother, Mary VanWyck Stepherson and his two sisters, Margaret McCready and Dorothy Jensen, as well as his beloved fur baby, D'Artagnan. He is survived by his wife, Lori Stepherson of Oakwood; sons, Kevin Stepherson and William Stepherson of Oakwood; daughters, Shanon (Clint) Holloway of Oakwood and Rhonda (Joe) Barron of Cedar Park; his brothers, Robert Stepherson of Killeen, John (Jeri) Stepherson of Cleburne, Alfred (Estelle) Stepherson, also of Cleburne, Tony (Bonnie) Hall of Canyon Lake and Shawn (Pam) Hall of Booneville, Arkansas; honorary brothers, Robert McCready of Tennessee Colony and Harold Waite of La Feria; sister, Carolyn (Bryant) Tillery of Dallas and step-mother, Mary Stepherson. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Hudson, Kaydon, and Griffon Holloway, Logan and Skylar Barron and special to his heart, Linda Londrie.
Funeral services for Bill will be held 12 noon, Friday, September 18, 2020 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Shawn Hall will officiate the service, and interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood, Texas. The Stepherson family will receive friends Friday morning from 8 A.M. to service time at the funeral home.
