Pat graduated from Robert Lee High School in 1961. Shortly after graduation he married his high school sweet heart, Glenda Blair, in Robert Lee. The newlyweds began their life together in Odessa, Texas and had two children Russell and Kim. He married Debbie Driskill in 1985 in Madisonville, TX. Shortly after marriage they moved to their second home in Katy, TX. Additionally, with the acceptance and blessing from Russell and Kim, he lovingly adopted Jennifer, Jamie and Derek, who will be forever grateful.

Immediately after high school Pat started working for El Paso Natural Gas. He was offered a job with Maxwell House in 1970 and moved his family to Spring, TX. He began his career in the oil and gas business with Hudson (J. Ray McDermott) Engineering in 1973 and retired after 35 years of service in 2009. He continued working as an Instrument Designer for Worley Parsons. Pat also had a successful cattle ranch in Midway, TX from 1978-2000. After finally retiring in July 2014 he spent the next several months with his son Russell who passed away from cancer in December of 2014. In February of 2015 after a healthy life he was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Pat fought hard to beat the odds of his type of cancer and even during the treatments was strong enough to travel. Pat travels included an RV trip to Oregon, trips to Vegas, NFL football game, trip to Tennessee, various trips to Louisiana and San Angelo.

Pat never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor. He was well-respected and well-liked. Pat also had a passion for playing his guitar, hog hunting, fishing, bailing hay, working on the ranch, bluegrass music, dancing, playing cards and dominoes, could fix anything, was an extremely hard worker, and loved well behaved kids. Pats smile, jokes, laugh, strong work ethic, financial advice, and spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

Additionally he was a Past Master Mason of the Spring No. 1174 Grand Lodge in Spring, TX and a life time member of the Bay Area Blue Bluegrass Association. He sponsored the Shriners, Scottish Rite, and was a supporter of the Grimes County Special Olympics.
