Wesley Avril Warner, age 59, of Marquez, Texas passed away on November 5, 2017 in Temple, Texas following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on February 24, 1958 to Travis Doyle Warner and Mary Helen Douthitt.
Wesley had worked in the construction business and as a deckhand in the oil and gas industry when he was younger. He was a wanderer and traveled quite a bit until he eventually settled in Marquez. Wesley enjoyed solitude and usually kept to himself. He enjoyed his life surrounded by open land and his animals, which he loved dearly. Wesley regularly spent his days outdoors, always tinkering with his latest project to pass the time. He had a big, tender heart that most people didn’t have the opportunity to see.
Wesley was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Rickey Warner and sisters, Robin Kacurek and Tammy F. Warner. He is survived by daughter, Leslie Warner (Sean); brothers, Tim Warner and James Warner; granddaughter, Brooklynn Smith; aunts, Faye Hodges and Irlin Sapp and uncles, J.D. Douthitt and Dwayne Douthitt. Wesley is also survived by numerous other extended family including special cousin, Shirley Baker.
In lieu of flowers, the Warner family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate.html or a charity of choice.
Memorial services for Wesley will be held at a later date. Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
