Tom Berry, age 56, passed away January 6, 2020 at his home in Hilltop Lakes, Texas. He was born Thomas Ian Berry, November 14, 1963, in Dallas, Texas. Tom was raised and grew up in Paradis, Louisiana and graduated high school from Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas.
Tom loved motorcycles and loved riding them even more. While living in West Virginia, he was known as “Alias” in the Dry Riders Motorcycle Club. Tom was a recovering alcoholic and a member of the Serenity Club in Dunbar, West Virginia. He had just celebrated nineteen years of sobriety October, 2019. Tom was an excellent pool player and was invited to Las Vegas, Nevada to play in several tournaments. He was also a winner in local tournaments where he was awarded various prizes including several trips.
Tom had lived in Hilltop Lakes, Texas for the past two years, coming from West Virginia. He was Catholic in faith. Tom was currently working as a lead furniture technician for Ashley Furniture. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents who raised him, Dan, Sr. & Nancy Berry and step-father, Robert Hazelbaker.
Surviving family members include devoted wife, Mary Berry of Hilltop Lakes; biological mother, Carole Hazelbaker of Lawton, OK; two sons; brothers, Dan Berry, Jr. (Eva) of Waco and Terry Bright, Danny Bona and Robert Anthony Bona, all of Lawton, OK and sisters, Dana McLish of Virginia and Sherry Bona Stepp of Lavergne, TN.
A celebration of Tom's life is planned for a later date.
Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
