Susan Ann "Sue" Standley

Sue Standley, age 79, of Centerville, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family June 30, 2023 in Centerville. A funeral service honoring her life will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas officiated by Rev. Rosemary Matthews, pastor of the River of Life Church. Sue will be laid to rest in Siloam Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service at the funeral home Sunday from 1 P.M. to service time.

Susan Ann (Miller) Standley was born July 21, 1943 in Cooper, Texas to parents, Joe & Lucille (Gregg) Miller. She was raised in Cooper and remained there until 1969 when she and her family moved to Leon County. Sue was a devoted homemaker her entire life. In her early years, she enjoyed gardening. Once grandchildren made an appearance in Sue's life, she became completely smitten with each one of them and devoted herself to being the best grandmother. She always enjoyed her time spent with them, as well as the rest of her family.

Sue was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, John Standley; grandson, Travis Page; brother, James Miller and sister, Clara Miller.

Surviving family members include sons, Tommy (Melinda) Page of Centerville; Joe (Julia) Page of Jewett and Elbert (Cindy) Page of Leona; grandchildren, Amber Page, Spring (Brandon) Shirley, Sierra Page (Reece Scales), Jessica Rust (Chad McLaughlin), Clayton DeBorde, Bryan (Kaylen) Page, Stacey (Eddie) Clark, Cody (Blessie) Page, Sky (Orlando) Almaguer, and Emily Page; great-grandchildren, Bailee, Brylan, Brooklyn, Buffy, Zaydee, Layton, Kailey Brylenn, Brett, Braxon, Cayden, Audrie, Cheyenne, Jassie, Caden, Selena and Chelsea.  Also surviving is Sue's sister, Betty Slakey of Cooper, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
