Sandra Lynn (Galvin) Sandel, 81, of Centerville, Texas passed away on October 25, 2024, in Bryan, Texas. She was born on November 1, 1942, to Albert Norman Galvin and Elda Jane (Archibald) Galvin in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sandra was well known for her cake baking, ceramics and crocheted blankets for friends and family. She and her late husband, Kenneth, square danced together for many years at the SPJST Lodge in Centerville. Both Kenneth and Sandra, took a missions trip to Alaska and were involved in Boys Scouts - Order of the Arrow. Sandra was also a member of Centerville First United Methodist Church.
Sandra was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Kenneth Sandel and granddaughter, Dakota Horton. She is survived by her children, Jane Marie Tamplen (David) of Holly Springs, North Carolina, James Ray Sandel (Sue) of Centerville, Texas, Joel Norman Sandel (Romi) of Houston, Texas, and John Thomas Sandel of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Galvin of Alaska; sister, Sally Ann Jost (Rick) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A time of visitation for Sandra Lynn (Galvin) Sandel has been scheduled for Monday, October 28, 2024, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Patricia Lund, will take place at 10 A.M., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery.
