Sally Jo Burchell

Sally Jo Burchell was born on September 16, 1940, to Wilfred and Marjorie Smith in Wichita, Kansas. She grew up attending the Episcopal Church and continued to attend that church through her first marriage to Bobby Armstrong.  During that time she gave birth to a son, Kenny Armstrong, and a daughter, Johnna Armstrong.

After the death of her husband, Bobby Armstrong, due to a racing accident, she ran their business for over two years.  She then sold the business and the building.

On September 23, 1974, she married John Burchell, and they started a long life together filled with many ups and downs but always full of deep love for one another.

Sally's father; mother; older brother, John; granddaughter, Kelsey; and grandson, Paul, all preceded her in death.

Sally is survived by husband, John; sister, Meg Hays and husband, Rick; children, Kenny and wife, Robyn, Johnna; and Tonya and husband, Juan; sisters-in-law, Martha Miller and husband, Jake and Waunetta Walker; brother-in-law, Mike Walker; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Sally's life will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Leona Methodist Church, Leona, Texas.  Sally's beloved husband, Rev. John Burchell, will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sally's honor are requested to the National Alzheimer's Association.

Final arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
