Ruth (Tarver) King

Ruth (Tarver) King, age 92, passed away at her home January 28, 2020. She was born April 11, 1927 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Bud & Addie (Matthews) Tarver, and worked as a bookkeeper most of her life. Ruth also owned and operated King Country Store, east of Centerville, for many years. Ruth had been a resident of Centerville for the past thirty-five years and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Ruth was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Robert P. King; children, Harold Ray King, Nancy McBride and Tommy King; granddaughter, Tammy Allen and great, great-grandson Noah Allen.

Surviving family members include son, Billy King of Centerville; brother, Guy Tarver of Jackson, Mississippi; sister, Mabelle Gibson of Brookhaven, Mississippi; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ruth are scheduled for 2 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Jim Bob Gunnels and Bro. Bo Gunnels will officiate the service. Interment will be in North Creek Cemetery. The King family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 1 P.M. until service time.
