A memorial service for Raymond Dariell Daniell, age 71, of Normangee, will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Cowboy Church of Leon County. Pastor Tuffy Loftin will officiate the service.
Raymond Dariell Daniell was born on March 5, 1946 in Memphis, Texas to Ivan Curtis Daniell & Mary Hammonds. He was married to Mary Allison. In their younger years, Raymond worked in construction which took he and his family all over the state of Texas and into Louisiana. Because of this, Raymond’s children attended elementary and middle school in at least one new school each year. Mary decided that the children needed to attend all four years of high school in one place so the family settled down in Leon County where Raymond took a job as a pipefitter during the construction of the power plant in Carlos. He later retired from the construction business and started his own trucking business. He continued driving trucks until his health began to fail. Raymond loved to fish and play the guitar. He especially enjoyed family gatherings, and most of all, Raymond loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart. He was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church and attended the Cowboy Church of Leon County when he was able. Raymond was also a longtime member of the Rogers Prairie Masonic Lodge #540.
Raymond passed away on September 3, 2017 at his home. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and step-parents. Surviving family members include wife, Mary Daniell of Normangee; sons, Robert Daniell (Kathy) of Salado and Dariell Ray Daniell (Kristina) of Marquez; daughters, Lisa Noey (Steve) of Marquez and Shawn Smith (Hal) of Centerville; brothers, Ivan Rick Daniell (Jean) of San Angelo and Michael Bridge of Borger and sisters, Lydia Rosburg of El Paso and Kathy Miller (Mack) of Amarillo. Raymond is also survived by grandchildren, Casey Daniell, Megan Daniell, Layton Miller, Brett Wagnon, Gauge Daniell, Will Mahaffey, Seth Mahaffey, Drew Mahaffey, Tate Noey Garzonbeck, Seth Noey and Corey Smith and three great grandchildren.
