Ray H. Trammell, 93, of Marquez, Texas passed away on December 20, 2020. He was born in Athens, Texas on June 28, 1927 to Walter Trammell and Onie (Rogers) Trammel. Ray lived much of his married life in the Houston area where he worked construction and built mostly schools and office buildings. At the time of his retirement, he was a construction superintendent.
Ray served his country in the U. S. Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he could.
Ray was preceded in death by both of his parents; by his sisters, Etta Mae McBride, Beatrice Huddleston, Imogene Conder, Faye Browning, and Linda Wells and his brother, Winfred Trammell.
Ray’s surviving family includes his wife, Anne Trammell of Marquez, Texas; daughters, Charlotte Swonke of Spring, Texas, Melba Patterson of Spring, Texas, Sandra Scardino of Conroe, Texas and Cathy Perry of Marquez, Texas; sisters, Melba O’Daniel of Midlothian, Texas and Mary Choate of Austin, Texas. Also surviving him are seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
No public visitation will be held. A graveside service is planned for December 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marquez Cemetery. Brother Billy Bob Evans will officiate.
Serving as Pallbearers: Heath Scardino, Dwane Swonke, Dale Patterson, Bailey Wilson, Caleb Swonke, and Larry Huddleston and as Honorary Pallbearers: Travis Soulant and Jay Lindley.
Due to COVID-19, masks are required and will be provided. Social distancing is also encouraged.
Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
