Randy Simms Ellis

Randy Ellis, age 69 of Centerville, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Madisonville, Texas. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 A.M., Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will be in the Leona Cemetery in Leona, Texas. A gathering of friends and family will take place Sunday, June 17th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Randy Simms Ellis was born March 3, 1949 in Palestine, Texas to Garvin & Mildred (Simms) Ellis. He was a 1967 graduate of Centerville High School, as well as, a graduate of Sam Houston State University. Randy worked as a Farm Bureau Insurance Agent for many years before he opened his own insurance agency in Centerville. During leisure time, Randy enjoyed restoring old vehicles and building furniture and cabinetry. He had lived most of his life in Centerville and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Centerville.

Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ellis in 2008. His surviving family members include parents, Garvin & Mildred Ellis of Centerville; son & daughter-in-law, Jason & Laura Ellis of Cypress; grandchildren, Justin, Maggie & Vivian Ellis; brother & sister-in-law, Ronald & Glenda Ellis of Centerville; nephew, Brandon Ellis & wife, Jennifer; niece, Wyndee Zuniga & husband, Tommy; great nieces & nephews, Maci, Brett, Tatum, Randen, Rett & Ryen and best friend, Edker “Sonny” Nealey.

Walters Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of all arrangements.
