Peyton Ryder Watson, age 10, passed away July 6, 2022 in Jewett, Texas. He was born, the second child and oldest boy, to Jeff & Solyta (Miller) Watson May 1, 2012 in Bryan, Texas.
Peyton was raised and grew up in the Marquez area and attended school at Leon Elementary School. Football was his favorite sport. During the summer months you could find Peyton, shirtless and barefoot, in the watermelon patch helping harvest watermelons to sell with his family or helping his mother pick, shell and package peas. Peyton was a helper and enjoyed helping his family all that he could. But, he also loved being outdoors and going down to the creek, or "Baptizing Hole," as he would call it, taking trips to Sonic for half-priced drinks and eating out at McDonalds. Like any other young person, Peyton got a kick out of pestering his siblings, but loved each of them fiercely. He was genuinely a good boy. Peyton's favorite activity was deer hunting. It was something he could have done all day.
Peyton was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Grant & Joyce Watson; paternal great-grandparents, Nelda & Ben Watson and maternal great-grandparents, Dorothy and John Miller and Betty and Jerry Craig.
Surviving family members include parents, Jeff & Solyta Watson of Marquez; brother, Holden Watson; sisters, Mackenzie, Makylah and Makynlynn Watson; aunts and uncles, John (Courtnie) Miller of Jewett, Riker Miller (Kendra Foster) of Katy, Robert (Laveda) Watson of Arkansas, Jazzylynn Miller (Chad Hill) of Buffalo, Bubba Watson of Marquez, Wanda (Kenneth) Alverson of Arkansas and Brenda Watson of Bryan; maternal grandparents, John & Alice Miller of Marquez and numerous cousins, as well as special friend, Rafe Dixon of Jewett.
