Graveside services for Patsy Ann (Lummus) Dover, age 86, will be held 1 P.M., Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Security Cemetery in the Security Community of Montgomery County, Texas. Bro. Tommy Campbell, pastor of Tri-Circle Ranch Christian Center, will officiate the service. A visitation will take place Tuesday evening, June 21st from 12 noon until 7 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
Patsy Ann Dover was born October 19, 1933 in Conroe, Texas to Hershel Bedford “H.B.” & Bessie Mae (Oliver) Lummus. She and her husband had lived in Leon County since 2001, coming from Navasota. For the majority of her life, Patsy had worked in the secretarial and accounting fields, as well as, owning a paint and wallpaper business. She retired from T.D.C.J. as a corrections officer. Patsy was a member of the Conroe Chapter #710 Order of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary #12024 of the Conroe VFW and attended Tri-Circle Ranch Christian Center.
Patsy loved to cook and be surrounded by family and friends. She was famous among her family for her chocolate, pineapple and coconut pies and enjoyed anytime they were all able to be together. At one time, Patsy and her friends were involved in competitive bar-b-que cooking. Patsy had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her flower beds and her yard. She also liked playing card games including Samba, Canasta and Solitaire, as well as, going hunting and fishing.
Patsy passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at her home. She was preceded by both of her parents; husband, Joe A. Dover; infant son, Baby Dover and siblings, Hershel Lummus, Jr., Hulon Clyde Lummus, Gale Norman Lummus, Wanda Joyce “Honey” Perry and Barbara Lummus.
Surviving family members include son, Joe Alton Dover (Melissa) of Navasota; daughter, Sharon Williams of Leona; grandchildren, Jay Williams (Eboni) of College Station, Jody Williams of Weatherford and Kaylee & Brady Dover of Navasota and great-grandchildren, Falyn, Carson, Troy, Trynati & Lawton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
