Funeral services for Mona Dell Skains Stone, 89, of North Zulch, will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Rev. Brandon Gray, pastor of the First Baptist Church in North Zulch, will officiate, and a private interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery near Normangee, Texas.
There will be no public visitation.
Mona Dell Skains Stone was born on September 7, 1927 in Groesbeck, Texas to Frank & Daisy (Gay) Walker. She was a homemaker her whole life. Mona loved to travel, shop and read, and she was a volunteer member of the Gold Medallion Club. Mona had lived in Madison County since 1980 and was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of North Zulch. Mona passed away on January 20, 2017 in a Madisonville nursing home. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, husbands, Willard Otis Skains & Jimmy Stone; five brothers and one sister.
Surviving family members include four daughters, Paulette Cisco (Bobby) of Longview, Rebecca McGinnis (Thomas) of North Zulch, Kay Skains of Seattle, WA and Susan Lemoine (Tommy) of Deer Park and step-daughter, Carol Stone Wickersham of Madisonville. Mona is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
