Mitchel Darwin Hines was born November 1, 1963 to his parents, Elden Hines and Neta Faye (Hines) Hall. Mitchel passed away at his home, peacefully in his sleep, October 16, 2023.
Mitchel lived the majority of his life in Marquez, Texas, having lived a few years in Centerville before recently moving to College Station to be closer to his daughter, Alexandria.
From the time he was a little boy until he was old enough to do so, Mitchel wanted to be a truck driver. He drove trucks (Peterbilts) for years before going to work for DuBois Reclamation at the coal mine in Jewett, Texas. Mitchel enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and most of all, driving trucks. Mitchel's biggest delight was spending time with his new grandson, Silas. He loved making silly noises just to make Silas laugh. Mitchel was one proud grandfather (Pop).
Mitchel is survived by his son, Joseph Hines; his daughter and son-in-law, Alexandria and Reagan May; and the light of his life, grandson, Silas May; his brothers, Richard Hines and Raymond Hines; his sisters, Diane Garrett, Jennie Sketers and Melinda Espe and his niece and nephews.
A service in celebration of Mitchel's life will be held 2 P.M., Friday, October 20, 2023 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Bro. Lee Weiler will officiate the service. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service from 12 Noon to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
