Michael Robert “Bobby” Vaculik was born on July 12, 1956 in Sugar Land, Texas to Benny and Pansy (Klechka) Vaculik. He was raised in Sugar Land, Texas and lived there all of his life. Michael attended the University of Houston Pharmacy School and graduated in 1978. He was a pharmacist for Eckerds and CVS for forty-one years at the Sugar Creek Location, where he created a legacy for healthcare that many continue to follow. He touched the lives of all of his patients. Michael was also a member of the Texas Board of Pharmacy and in 2013, was awarded the District Paragon Award by CVS Caremark for, what Michael’s family likes to say, was the “Best Pharmacist Ever.” He loved to hunt, fish, pick pecans and looked forward to going to the beach every summer. Michael went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 7, 2021 in Sugar Land, Texas, where he was surrounded by his family, following a difficult battle with cancer. Michael was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas. Michael was a loving husband, daddy and grandpa and enjoyed being with them all. He loved watching all their sports and rodeos he had the opportunity to attend.
Michael was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Surviving family includes wife, Elizabeth (Tubb) Vaculik of Sugar Land; daughters, Sylvia Calhoun (Poppa) of Anderson and Connor Vaculik (boyfriend, Ethan) of Sugar Land; two grandchildren, Tyler Calhoun and Chesney Calhoun of Anderson; brother, Sandy Vaculik (Patti) of Emory and puppy, Lady Vaculik. Michael is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He leaves behind many, many friends that he made during his career as a pharmacist and will be dearly missed by all he met.
Graveside services honoring Michael’s life will be held 1P.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at New Salem Cemetery in the Centerview Community of Leon County, Texas. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon.
