Melinda Ruth Restivo

Melinda Ruth (Largent) Restivo was born on May 22, 1942 in Navasota, Texas and passed away on August 1, 2017 in Dallas, Texas at the age of seventy-five. Her parents were Calford & Ruth (Taylor) Largent.



Melinda grew up in the northside of Houston and was a graduate of Klein High School. She worked as a teacher in a private school and resided in the Dallas area most of her adult life. Melinda loved Betty Boop and Elvis Presley. She attended everything she was able that had to do with Elvis. Melinda was Assembly of God in faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Calford Largent; husband and father of her children, Richard Cortez and husband, Frank Restivo.



Surviving family members include mother, Ruth Largent of Centerville; son, Lee Cortez of Dallas; daughter, Kellye Williams (husband, Matt) of Maypearl; brother, Tommy Largent (wife, Fran) and sisters, Marylin Zoch (husband, Kenneth) and Pam Gressett (husband, Buddy). Melinda is also survived by grandchildren, Laci Williams, Ashlee Williams & Garrett Williams; great granddaughter, Reagan and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.



Funeral services for Melinda will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Tommy Largent will officiate the service and interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. A brief visitation will be held from 1 P.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Gypson Wood, Calvin Zoch, Brad Gressett, Jerry Tubbs, Tommy McCormick and Bill Bryant.



Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
