Maxine Daniels Collins was born on November 16, 1942 in Henderson, Texas passed away after a two year battle with cancer on June 23, 2017. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017, 10 am at North Creek Cemetery, 8153 FM 3178, Centerville, Texas.
Maxine was preceded in death by her father, Wilber Vernon Daniels, brother, Charles Rodney Daniels, brother, Steve Daniels, and sister, Kay Daniels.
Survivors include her husband Ray Collins of Centerville, mother, Lois Williams Daniels of Good Springs, children, Hal Collins and wife Denise Collins of Ft. Worth, Paul Collins and wife Tisha Collins of Kingwood, sisters, Jean Carother, and Jane Cheek, grandchildren, Trey and Britnee Collins, Cali, Council and Cash Collins, great-grandchild, Amberlin Collins as well as many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Maxine grew up and graduated in Henderson, Texas class of 1961. There she met her husband Ray and during their early years of marriage they traveled throughout the country with Rays job. Later they settled down in Bedford, Texas and together established many businesses including the Sipn Nip, that contributed to the country music movement of the 1970s. She helped promote and support several of the great singers of the time. Maxine was well-respected and loved by her community.
After retirement, Maxine and Ray moved to Centerville in 2010. She took this time to enjoy her children and grandchildren.
Maxine was a huge fan of the Texas Rangers and an amazing cook. Ray and Maxine just celebrated 58 years of marriage this month. Always striving for things to be done right and never to give up are just a few of the qualities she instilled in everyone around her. She will be greatly missed.
