Marion Elizabeth Barbee, 74, of Centerville, Texas passed away at her home on August 7, 2021. Marion was born on June 29, 1947 to William L. and Nelda (Haggard) Johnston in McCombe, Mississippi. Marion had lived in Leon County the past twelve years. She was a very intelligent person, devoted housewife and mother. Marion loved horses, sewing, painting, and crafting. She excelled with numbers and had a big heart for dogs and cats.
Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, William Barbee of Centerville, Texas; daughters, Mary Ann Erwin of Leona, Texas and Kimberly Currier (Mathew) of Nashville, Tennessee; sisters, Elaine Lippard of Arkansas, Ruth “Pookie” Brown of Centerville, Texas, Charlene Cole of Centerville, Texas, Darlene Alexander of Cleveland, Texas and Nelda Arline Dawson of Shepherd, Texas; grandchildren, Erin Kimich, Jeffery Erwin, Tyler Shannon, Rebecca Barbee, Micaela Erwin, Kayley Currier, Mason Currier and Kyle Shannon; numerous great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by both parents, William and Nelda Johnston; son, William Thomas “Tom” Barbee, II; three brothers, James “Bubba” Robinson, Rayford Robinson and Joseph Robinson; and sister, Terry Gilmore.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M., on August 28, 2021 at the Cowboy Church of Leon County, Texas. Paster Tuffy Loftin will officiate the service.
Arrangements are under the direct care of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
