Funeral services for Margie Ree Green, age 82, of Madisonville and formerly of Centerville have been set for 11 AM, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville. She will be buried in the Ward Cemetery south of Centerville. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 21, 2017 at the funeral from 6 PM until 8 PM.
Margie Green was born August 27, 1934 in Leon County to Walker Haven and Lucinda (Clay) Haven. She worked many years at Centerville Nursing Home as a Certified Nurses Assistant. She also worked for Eunice Carrigan taking care of her children. She was a lifelong resident of Leon County and a member of the Cairo Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to make baked goods for family and friends and was a very good cook. Ms. Margie was always a hard worker. She was also very close to her family.
Margie passed away at the Nexus Specialty Hospital in Shenandoah, Texas on July 18, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Lee Green; a grandson, Tyrone Becks and two brothers, W.C. Haven and Dan Lee Haven. Surviving family includes four sons, Clifton Haven (Merlin) of Waxahachie, Jack Haven of Centerville, Grady Green (Barbara) of Houston and Jerry Green (Susan) of Huntsville; three daughters, Margaret Clark (Henry) of Houston, Mary Green of Centerville and Terrie Green (Enrique Alvarez) of Brenham; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Walters Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of all arrangements.
