Marcus John Lemons, age 72, of Centerville passed away peacefully at his home February 15, 2023. Funeral services honoring his life will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Wayne Bell will officiate the service. Interment will follow in North Creek Cemetery in the Nineveh Community of Leon County, Texas.

Marcus John Lemons was born June 28, 1950 in Pasadena, Texas to Johnnie & Mable Ruth (McCaskill) Lemons. He was raised in the Pasadena area. Marcus retired as a guard from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and returned as a Captain in the Swine and Agriculture Department at the Ferguson Unit in Midway, Texas where he worked for several more years. Marcus enjoyed raising hogs. He also enjoyed skeet shooting and liked riding his lawnmower. His favorite past time was keeping up with his old high school classmates and attending reunions. Marcus was a member of the Centerville Masonic Lodge #1291.
Marcus was preceded in death by both of his parents and step-mother, Felicia Lemons. Surviving family members include wife, Debbie Lemons of Centerville; sons, Jeromy Daily (Kimberly) of Waco and Duane Dailey (Christina) of College Station; grandchildren, Gavin Behrens, Jaidan Dailey, Raymond Coones, Caressa Dailey, Talio Coones, Alis Dailey, Serenity Coones and Maxine Dailey and great-grandchildren, Dustin Thompson, Auora Kizer and Ryder Short.
Walters Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements.
