Mrs. Maggie Lee (Green) Proctor was born November 2, 1935 in Centerville, Texas to the late Frank & Jossie (Hopkins) Green. She was baptized at an early age and united with Cairo Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death. Miss Maggie Green married the late Albert Lee Proctor, Sr. on November 18, 1952. To this union, four children were born. Mrs. Maggie had lived all of her life in Leon County.
Mrs. Maggie Proctor passed away March 18, 2021 in Madisonville, Texas following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; Frank and Jossie (Hopkins) Green, husband, Albert Proctor Sr., daughter, Annie Bladen; two sisters, Mollie Craig and Lula Mae Sanders, and two brothers Joe Lee Green and Lawyer Green.
Left to cherish Mrs. Maggie’s memory are daughter, Ruby (Ira) Mosley of Bedias; two sons, Arthur (Helen) Proctor of Leona and Albert (Lela) Proctor of Virginia Beach, VA; two granddaughters that Mrs. Maggie raised, LaKita Proctor of Conroe and Jeanette Ford (James) of Centerville; eighteen grandchildren, ten of whom she raised, Christi Perkins, Amber Perkins, A.J. "Chubby" Proctor, Arthur Proctor, Harlan Proctor, Zachary Proctor, Yolanda Proctor, Zoe Proctor, Brill Proctor, and Gary Balden Jr.; twenty-four great-grandchildren, four that she helped raise, Andre Bartley, Cameron Williams, Joshua Proctor, and Diamonique Williams; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Polk of Madisonville and Willie Rhinehart of Centerville; son-in-law, Gary Bladen, Sr. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing services for Mrs. Maggie will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Rev. Spencer will officiate the service and Superintendent Johnnie Evans, Sr. will bring the message of comfort. Burial will be in Spiller Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service from 9 A.M. to service time at the funeral home.
