Lyndall Louise (Robinson) Hale, 96, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Madisonville, Texas. Her funeral is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26th at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas with Dr. Chris Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.
Lyndall was born on the “Ridge” near Centerville to Ouida Pearl and William Brian Robinson on October 21, 1923. She always enjoyed outdoor activities, especially baseball and swimming. She fondly remembered several swimming pools of the day – all of them in Boggy Creek! Lyndall graduated from Leona High School in 1940 and attended nursing school at Houston Methodist Hospital. In 1941, she married Louis Hale in Houston, Texas and became a successful homemaker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas and Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Sugar Land, Texas. She was active in numerous church activities including Sunday school teacher, department director, and WMU. From 1981 - 1995 Lyndall served the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention as a “Volunteer in Foreign Missions”, and she completed 30 mission trips in countries all over the world including Brazil, England, Scotland, Bahamas, Russia, Australia, India, Ukraine, and Indonesia. She also had a special love for the country of Israel and traveled there as often as possible.
Lyndall was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ellwood Hale; son, Ronald Louis Hale; her parents Ouida and William Robinson; brothers, J.W. Robinson, Elton Robinson, Ersell Robinson, Linberg Robinson, Marshall “Cotton” Robinson, and Stanley Robinson; and sisters, Lillian Pierce and Ruth Pierce.
She is survived by her children; Bob Hale and his wife Emma, Billy Hale and his wife Ruby, and Mittye Standley and her husband Duane, her grandchildren; Lisa Latimer, Carrie Beauchamp, Rhonda Geno, Randi Pipes, Raynie McLaurin, and Carlie Standley, her great-grandchildren; Brady Latimer, Haley Spiller, Cole Latimer, Laney Latimer, Madison Beauchamp, Wyatt Beauchamp, Brynlie Beauchamp, Noah Geno, Gabrielle Geno, Joshua Geno, Blair Pipes, Brody Pipes, Reese McLaurin, baby Kate McLaurin who is expected in February, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Larry Robinson, Ray Robinson, Powell Robinson, Linda Sanford, Will Robinson, Tommy Pierce, Sam Pierce, and Glenn Robinson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
