Homegoing funeral services for Loya Ola Davis, age 97, will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Loya Ola will be laid to rest in the Two Mile Paradise Cemetery in Leona, Texas. There will be no public visitation.
Loya Ola Davis was born April 18, 1920, in Leon County, Texas to Lace & Fessie (Dawkins) Kelly. She worked as a cook most of her life and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening & canning and working in her yard. Loya Ola was a member of the Mt. Calm Pine Top Baptist Church where she had served as treasurer and secretary, and also sang in the church choir. Additionally, she was a member of the Ebenezer Singing Quartet. At one time, Loya Ola had served as Mission President of the New Home District Association. Most importantly, Loya Ola loved her family and enjoyed attending family gatherings on birthdays and holidays.
Loya Ola passed away March 26, 2018 in DeSoto, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Goree Davis; daughter, Jolacie Walker; brothers, Junious Kelly & Raleigh Kelly and sister, Josie Lee Smith. She is survived by four sons; three daughters and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, as well as, other extended family and friends.
Arrangements are entrusted to Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
