Graveside services for Louise Neyland, 79, of Old Bowling will be held 10 A.M., Monday, September 14, 2020 at Old Bowling Cemetery in rural Leon County. Mrs. Neyland’s son, Louis Neyland, will officiate the service. The Neyland family will receive friends Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
Louise Neyland was born June 21, 1941 in Trinity, Texas to parents, Johnny & Irene (Dunaway) Dixon. She had lived in Leon County for the past fifty-eight years and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church. Louise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was her family’s biggest fan at any sporting event and was “Mimi,” not only to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but to numerous other children in the community. Besides her most important job as caregiver to her family, Louise held various jobs outside the home including nail technician, craft maker and at the auction sale.
Louise never met a stranger and loved visiting with people. Fishing was a favorite past time, as well as the game, Bunco and making fried pies. She passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at her home. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; son, Robin Neyland; brother, James “Broom” Dixon and sister, Wanda Collett.
Louise is survived by loving husband, James “Toady” Neyland of Old Bowling; sons, Louis (Cheryl) Neyland of Venetia and Heath (Crystal) Neyland of Old Bowling and brothers, Harold Don (Patsy) Dixon of Trinity and Randall (Debbie) Dixon of Riverside. Louise is also survived by grandchildren, Jason (Lindsey) Neyland of Angleton, Christine (Matt) Garner of Tiki Island, Elizabeth Neyland of Venetia, Chloe Neyland of Leona, James Daniel (Bailey) Neyland of Hilltop Lakes, Caleb (Megan) Neyland of Leona, Ashton Noey of Centerville, Candace (Lucas) Suggs of Newby, Caleb McKinney of Old Bowling and Makayla Brannen of Stephenville and great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Rhett, Faith, Hallie, Brayden, Dylan, Connor, Roper, Boaz, Abner, Dawson, Anna, Josiah, Kelcie, Kayzlie and Asher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Old Bowling Cemetery or the Old Bowling School House, 13387 CR 344, Marquez, Texas 77865.
Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas is entrusted with final arrangements.
