Lewis Hoyt, age 65, of Centerville, Texas passed away October 20, 2022 in Madisonville, Texas following an extended illness. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Bro. James Rosier will officiate the service.

Lewis Wesley Hoyt was born August 6, 1957 in Madisonville, Texas to A.C. & Gloria (Summerville) Hoyt. He married his sweetheart, Cathy Keller, in 1979. Except for a brief residence in Pasadena, Texas, Lewis lived his entire life in Leon County where he was self-employed as a dozer operator, mechanic and welder. Idle hands were not in Lewis' vocabulary, and he always enjoyed working on something to keep himself busy. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and most of all, spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Lewis was preceded in death by both of his parents. His surviving family includes wife of forty-three years, Cathy Hoyt of Centerville; son, Cad (Caroline) Hoyt of Old Waverly; daughter, Ashley Hoyt of Red Oak; sister, Barbara Hoyt; grandchildren, Brendan Ramirez, Harmen Hoyt and Cooper Hoyt; step-mother, Betty Jo Hoyt; step-sister, Brenda (Rob) Brundrett, as well as several nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department, Leon County Sheriff's Association or American Cancer Society.
Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas is entrusted with final arrangements.
