It is with a heavy heart, yet a spirit of celebration, that we announce the passing of Leo Donald Noey, 87, of Centerville, Texas. Leo peacefully departed this world on March 31, 2025. Born on July 6, 1937, to Oscar and Freddie (Stokley) Noey in Leon County, Texas, Leo devoted his life to the joy of giving and the warmth of family.
Leo was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, known for his kind spirit and unwavering generosity. He believed in lending a helping hand and always found joy in sharing what he had with others. Whether it was riding around his cherished property to feed the fish and cows, or sharing vegetables from the family garden with locals, Leo's heart was as vast as the Texas sky.
Leo was preceded in death by both of his parents and five siblings. He is survived by his sons, Steve Noey (Lisa) and Shane Noey (Tammy); grandchildren, Seth Noey (Karie), Tate Jarzombek (Brice), Will Mahaffey (Brittany), Seth Mahaffey (Ashtyn), Drew Mahaffey (fiancé, Harlea), Derrick Noey (Krystal), Shellby Noey, Karissa Noey (Jacob Waggoner); thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, John Noey (Sue) and Vivian Noey (Linda); along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A graveside service for Leo will be held 2 P.M., Friday, April 4, 2025, in Winn Cemetery, Marquez, Texas. Jerry Gustavus will officiate the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
