Larry Emory Sills

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Emory Sills, age 67, of Flynn, Texas have been set for 1 PM, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville. Rev. Dewey Hughes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Marquez Cemetery in Marquez, Texas. A visitation is scheduled for the day before, November 18, 2016, from 5 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home.
Larry Sills was born on July 30, 1949 in Goose Creek, Texas to Douglas Alfred and Thelma Estelle (Newsom) Sills. He was raised in Channelview, Texas and, later moved to Flynn, Texas. Larry helped his father build the house they lived in after moving to Flynn. He was living in that same house at the time of his death on November 12, 2016. For many years Larry was a single Dad, and was also known as a Mr. Mom. His kids loved the banana nut bread he would bake. He worked at a variety of jobs including iron worker, construction worker, bus driver, guard at TDCJ and office worker for H&R Block. In his later years his favorite role was Grandpa. He absolutely loved being with his grandchildren and they loved him right back.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Katherine Sills Oliver. He is survived by the mother of his children, Anita Gayle Parker of Flynn; a son, Barry Lynn Sills of Flynn; a daughter Brenna Muniz (George) of Midway; brother, Butch Sills (Dot) of Flynn; two sisters, Peggy Campbell (Ray) and Brenda Barrington (Chuck) all of Madisonville and five grandchildren, Maegan Lynn Richards, Raegan Leann Muniz, Morgan Michelle Muniz, Braxton Lynn Sills and Brantley Allen Sills.
Serving as pallbearers are Chris Reed, Tony Springer, Doug Sills, Haskell Oliver, Michol Goodrum, Timothy Green and J.R. Oliver.
