Johnnie Ray Moore, Sr.

Johnnie Ray Moore, Sr. was born to the parentage of Florence Johnson Buckner and Matthew Moore in Houston County, Texas on February 28, 1952 and raised in Hopewell, Texas by grandparents, Varonia and Asberry Johnson, all who have preceded Mr. Moore in death. He attended Douglass High School in Centerville, Texas. Later on, Mr. Moore married Dosha Marie Reed. She also precedes him in death. Mr. Moore passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 in Harris Hospital, Fort Worth, Texas.

Surviving family include sisters, Mary Burns and Robbie Johnson, both of College Station, Barbara Buckner of Spring and Roxianne Washington of Houston and brothers, Ezekiel, Matthew and George Ray Buckner, all of Houston. He also leaves behind two sons, Johnnie Ray Moore, Jr and Jason Moore, both of Houston; very special friend, A.B. Livingston of Fort Worth and god-sister, Jackie Wells, as well as nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Homegoing services for Mr. Moore will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Pastor Winston Spencer, Jr. will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in the Hopewell Community of eastern Leon County, Texas.
