Funeral services honoring the life of Clayton Clary, 37, of Marquez, Texas will be held 11 A.M., Monday, November 29, 2021 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Bro. Lee Weiler will officiate the service, and interment will follow in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Texas. The Clary family will receive friends Sunday, November 28th from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at the funeral home.
Clayton passed away November 25, 2021 near Marquez, Texas. He was born October 14, 1984 in Bryan, Texas to Johnie Kenneth Clary and Reba (Shimshack) Zwahr. Known as “Woody” to most, he grew up in Navasota and Leon County and was a graduate of Leon High School. He was baptized in the Methodist Church and had most recently attended the Cowboy Church in Marquez. Woody owned and operated a heavy equipment business. He was a dedicated and hard worker. Those who knew Woody describe him as a giving person with the largest heart imaginable. He would give anyone the shirt off of his back if needed. He was a faithful father to his daughter, even learning to fix her long, red hair to make her happy. Woody was also a dedicated uncle to his numerous nieces and nephews. He was the “Iron Man” of the family and a rock to lean on for most. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Woody was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by father, Johnie Clary of Marquez; mother & step-father, Reba & Dean Zwahr of Navasota; daughter, Lanie Mae Clary of Marquez; former wife, Micha Watson of Marquez; brothers, Cody Clary (Paige) of Marquez, Noble Wise (Lindsay) of Marquez and Curtis Zwahr (Jessica) of Ellinger; sisters, Jentry Clary of Waco, Swacie Meekins of Navasota and Kayla Schulz (Skyler) of Brenham; nieces & nephews, Easton Clary, Emery Clary, Bristol Lummus, McCrae Sparkman, Creed Schulz, Annabelle Tyson, Brooke Campbell and Gannen Wise and special uncle, Ronald Clary of Navasota, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
Final arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
