John Thomas Long

Graveside services for Mr. John Long, 83, of the Nineveh Community will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, May 12, 2022 at North Creek Cemetery. There will be no public visitation prior to the service.

John Thomas Long was born in Baytown, Texas December 7, 1938. He retired as a supervisor for a refinery business. John and his late wife, Beatrice, had owned property in Leon County since 1976, one day hoping to move to the country. This dream came true in 1998. John enjoyed country life, especially working with his cattle. In his younger years, John had loved hunting and fishing. He passed away May 7, 2022 in Tyler, Texas.

John was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife of nearly forty-two years, Beatrice Long and a daughter. Surviving family members include step-son, Carl Jackson (Tressa) of Tyler; brother, Bob Long of Houston and a grandson.

Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas is entrusted with final arrangements.
