A graveside service for John Springer Burke will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Concord Cemetery in Concord, Texas. Jerry House will officiate the service. The public is invited to attend a visitation that will take place the evening of Saturday, May 21st, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
John “Springer” Burke, 93, of Leona, Texas, passed away on May 18, 2022 in Temple, Texas. Springer was born on October 19, 1928 in Concord to Mark and Bertha (Springer) Burke. He lived most of his life in Concord, until marrying his wife, Dorothy and moving to Leona in 1973. Springer was a jack of all trades who could fix anything, his specialty was mechanic work and welding. He loved being outdoors and working in the fields with cattle.
Springer was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister, Edith Lagrone; and brother-in-law, Pete Lagrone. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Jo Burke of Leona, Texas; daughter, Pam Bolls (Chris) of Little Rock, Arkansas; son, Joe Burke (Haley) of Madisonville, Texas; grandchildren, Wyatt, Darby, Tara and Leif; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
