John Edward Mason peacefully passed away in Waco, Texas on February 5, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born on July 17, 1939, in Newton Falls, Ohio, to Joseph Edward & Elizabeth (Elliot) Mason.


With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to John, a man who lived a simple yet meaningful life. He was a devoted and loving husband to his beloved wife, Lou Ella Mason, with whom he shared countless memories throughout their journey together. Together, they created a home filled with love, joy, and laughter.


As a father, John was a pillar of strength and guidance to his daughters. He nurtured and supported them throughout their lives, ensuring they had the tools they needed to succeed. His proud presence will forever be missed.


John was also blessed with the joy of being a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them showering them with affection, laughter, and wisdom. Their bond was unbreakable, and each grandchild will forever hold cherished memories of their beloved grandfather in their hearts.


In the realm of work, John's craftsmanship as a brick mason was renowned throughout the industry. He dedicated his career to his craft, mastering the art of masonry and leaving a lasting legacy in the buildings he constructed. His hard work and expertise will continue to be admired for years to come.


Beyond his profession, John had a passion for simple pleasures in life. In his downtime, he enjoyed playing checkers and solitaire, finding solace and tranquility in these games. John also found great comfort in listening to the Bible on tape, finding guidance and inspiration within its words. He incredibly enjoyed his football matches, cheering passionately for his favorite teams.


John's devotion to his faith was evident in his active participation in church activities. He found immense joy and fulfillment in serving his community and fellow worshipers. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith were a true testament to his character.


As a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Army, John proudly served his country. His selflessness and dedication to duty will always be remembered and cherished.


John was predeceased by both of his parents; daughter, Renee Mason Henderson; brother, Joseph "Ed" Mason; and sisters, Betty Elliot and Margaret Mason Dean.


He will be fondly remembered by wife, Lou Ella Mason; daughter, Anita Henderson; grandchildren, Maegan Henderson, Devin Henderson, Garrett Mason (wife, Sabrina), Trevor Parker and Ethan Henderson and great-grandchild, Aleckzander Mason.


John's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the incredible life he led and the impact he made on those around him.


A private family service to honor John's remarkable life will be held at a later date.


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in John's honor.
