Jesse Ray Nichols

Funeral services for Jesse Ray Nichols, age 71, of Centerville, Texas will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Centerville, Texas. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service from 12 Noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Jesse Ray Nichols was born in Eastland, Texas June 28, 1951 to Coy Aaron & Matta Lou (Searcy) Nichols. He had worked as a welder and pipe fabricator for a number of years and retired in 2006 when his health began to fail. Jesse married Angela "Angie" Smith February 18, 1993 and they made their home in Centerville, Texas. Jesse was an excellent hunter and fisherman and enjoyed cooking delicious meals for his family. Jesse had moved to Centerville from the Lake Jackson area and was Baptist in faith. He passed away January 4, 2022 in Bryan, Texas following an extended illness. Jesse was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister, Jeanna Kay Huey and brother, James Wallace Nichols.

Surviving family members include wife, Angie Nichols of Centerville; son, Christian Ray Nichols (Louann) of Brazoria; daughters, Stephanie May Rutkowske of Lake Jackson, Elizabeth Marie "Lizzard" Nichols of Lake Jackson, Jessica Marie Nichols of San Antonio and Cynthia Kay Bain (Noah) of Centerville; grandchildren, Justin, Hunter, Kiley, Haley, Makayla, Brooklyn, Elijah, Kayson, Ashton and Oliver and great-grandson, Jaxon. Jesse is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
