Jeanie Lou Baugh

April 21, 1937 — September 8, 2021

Jeanie McRae Baugh, 84, passed away September 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 21, 1937 to Tom and Katherine McRae of Marquez, Texas. She graduated high school in Marquez and in 1955 she married Ira Joe Baugh also of Marquez. Shortly thereafter they moved to Pasadena, Texas to settle into their life. Jeanie became a devoted wife and mother to three children. While raising her children, she attended nursing school and graduated top in her class to become a registered nurse. After seventeen years of service at Bayshore Hospital, she retired with Joe and they once again returned to Marquez.

Jeanie was a devoted wife of sixty-five years and had a great dedication to her family and her faith from which she drew her strength and determination. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Pasadena and later rejoined Marquez Baptist Church upon retirement. She was very involved in her church and community. Jeanie was kind to all and had a true servant’s heart. She also had a love of animals which included feeding and taking care of all the stray cats and dogs in the neighborhood as well as her blind calf (Edgar) that she raised from bottle to a big bull. She was known to ride out in the pasture often to lead Edgar by her voice to a place of shelter from the rain or cold. Jeanie had a true enjoyment of the simple things in life. She lived a life of dignity and respect and was a Christian model for which we all aspire. She was an exceptional person in how she lived her life. She will be forever missed and is always in our hearts.
