She was 84 years old. Janice was a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, and a treasured friend to many. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, kindness, and commitment to God and her family.
A resident of Centerville since 1996, Janice's spirit blossomed in the small-town charm that embraced her after years spent in northeast Houston. Her unwavering faith shone brightly as she was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she found joy and purpose through her involvement with the WMA group.
Janice had a green thumb and a love for nature, which manifested in her passion for gardening. In earlier years, she owned a flower shop, where her talent for arranging blooms brought joy to countless customers. She also pursued a career in real estate, holding a license for several years, showcasing her dynamic approach to life and her willingness to embrace new challenges. At home, Janice was a steadfast supporter of her husband and boys and always the consummate homemaker and caregiver.
Janice was preceded in death by both of her parents and infant sister, Baby Peppers (1949). She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Rose of Centerville; her two devoted sons, Donald Wayne Rose (Glenda Mae Ellis) and Dwight Jay Rose (Liz Elliott), both of Centerville; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, as well as a host of extended family and special friends. Each of them carries forward her spirit of love and compassion, deeply influencing their lives as she did in her vibrant journey.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janice’s extraordinary life during a visitation to be held Monday, March 24, 2025, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
