James Clayton Pervis was born July 5, 1972 in Ennis, Texas to Clayton Pervis & Ginger (Keys) Pervis. He was raised in Crockett, Texas and had resided in Fairfield the past three years. James was employed as a cattle hauler for Thigpin Livestock Company and he was a dedicated and hard worker.
James was a cowboy at heart and enjoyed living the country life. This included fishing, hunting and outdoor sports, and he was a lover of all animals.
James’ life was tragically taken away August 8, 2020 in McClennan County, Texas. He was 48 years old. James was preceded by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Surviving family members include father, Clayton Pervis of Crockett; mother, Ginger Pervis of Jewett; daughter, Katelyn Pervis of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers, Jody (Wanda) Keys of Crockett, Stacy Pervis of Dallas and Mark Pervis of Crockett; sisters, Melinda (Tommy) Page of Centerville and Melissa Pervis of Marquez, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.
A celebration of James’ life will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Cowboy Church of Leon County. Pastor Tuffy Loftin will officiate the service. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:30 P.M. to 2 P.M. A private family inurnment will take place at Boggs Cemetery in Austonio, Texas at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
