Jack Wiley Jones

Funeral services for Jack W. Jones, age 93, of Centerville are set for 1 PM, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville. Jeff Vincent will officiate and burial will follow in the Centerville, Cemetery. A public visitation for Mr. Jones will be held on Monday evening from 5 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home.
Jack Jones, one of seven children born to Wiley J. and Nannie (Leard) Jones, was born in Shamrock, Oklahoma on November 10, 1922. He served his country in the U.S. Army in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. In World War II, he fought in both Germany and France with the 29th Division, 115th Infantry Regiment, Company C. In the Korean Conflict, he served from 1950 until 1953 in the 578th ENGR C BN, Company B and was stationed at Camp Cooke in Japan. He retired from the service as a Master Sergeant.
As a civilian, he worked for North American Aviation in Los Angeles and Fresno, California. He then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and retired as a mail handling supervisor in the Air Mail Facility at IAH, Houston, Texas.
He moved to Centerville in 1989. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Centerville. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cecil Jones, Barney Jones, Karl Jones and Paul Jones; sister, Mary Lou Jones; infant son, Jackie Lloyd Jones; son, Charles Glenn Jones, and daughter-in-law, Jackie Duncanson. Mr. Jones passed away at his residence on Friday, September 23, 2016 .
Surviving family members include his wife, Mary Louise (Baker) Jones of Centerville; a daughter, Candy Jones Campise of Centerville; daughters-in-law, Carol Jones of Whitehouse, Texas and Mary Jones of Tyler, Texas; sister, Sandy Jones Hall of Humble, Texas; five grandchildren, Tracy Stefano (Joe), Charlene Graziano, Travis Jones (Kim), Molina Jones and Winston Campise; five great grandchildren, Austin Stefano, Tristan Holt, Kaylie Holt, Cayleb Jones and Colton Jones and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers: Travis Jones, Raymond Moore, Phillip Mullen, Paul Stout, Kyle Stout and Shay Stout. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Jones, Bill Klutz, Gayle Tittle and Jeff Vincent.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, Attention: Donor Relations, 375 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
Services are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
