Israel Perez Cabrera

Israel Perez Cabrera, age 83, of Leona, Texas passed away on February 21, 2022, at his home in Leona. He was born to Andres Cabrera and Petrita Perez on May 19, 1938, in Pesqueria, Mexico. Israel had lived in Leon County for about thirty years coming from the Houston area. Israel liked living in the country and taking care of animals. He also enjoyed bar-b-queuing and family gatherings every weekend.

Israel was preceded in death by both parents; all his brothers; two sisters; and son, Henry Cabrera. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cabrera of Leona; sons, Daniel Cabrera of Centerville and Israel Cabrera, Jr. of Leona; daughters, Rosemary Mendoza (Antonio) of Houston, Patricia Gonzalez (Delfino) of New Waverly, Hermelinda Ramirez of Houston and Sylvia Regalado (Ruben) of Splendora; sister, Maria Limon of Houston; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Israel will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, February 25, 2022, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Centerville. A visitation will take place from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M., Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the funeral home.
