Ina Mae Davidson

Funeral services for Mrs. Ina Davidson, 95, of Waco and formerly of Buffalo, will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Bro. Alan Grisham, pastor of First Baptist Church in Buffalo, will officiate the service, and interment will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery. A public visitation will take place from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, January 25th at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ernest McKelroy, Johnny McKelroy, Brooks McKelroy Jr., Scott Bailey, Bradley Sandlin Jr. & Joshua Ewing. Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian Vancourt & Bradley Sandlin Sr.

Ina Mae (Lanford) Davidson was born on September 13, 1921 in Chilton, Texas to Walter Clem & Nellie (Tadlock) Lanford. She was married to her first husband, Brooks A. McKelroy for a short time until his life was tragically cut short in an auto accident. Ina later married Thomas Eugene Davidson on March 20, 1948. She held jobs at the Owens Illinois Glass Plant and J.M. Wood Manufacturing, both in Waco. Ina & Tommy later moved to Buffalo in 1961 from the Waco area, where she ran the Ideal Motel in Buffalo for a period of time. Ina enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She also loved when her grandchildren would come to Buffalo for a visit. Whether it was just for a day or for a majority of the summer, she relished in her time with them and how happy they made her. Ina and Tommy resided in Buffalo until Tommy passed away in 2008. She then moved in with her daughter in Waco. She lived out the remainder of her life there; always enjoying special visits or surprise birthday parties given by her family. Ina was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buffalo. She passed away on January 23, 2017. Ina was preceded in death by both of her parents; first husband, Brooks Alton McKelroy, Sr.; second husband, Tommy Davidson; sons, Brooks Alton McKelroy, Jr. and Emmett F. McKelroy and brothers, Walter & J.C. Lanford.

Surviving family members include daughter, Mildred Sandlin of Waco; daughters-in-law, Gloria McKelroy of Hardin & Martha McGuire of Buffalo; sisters, Sue Nulph of Waco, Ellen Faye Carroll of Waco & Geraldine Walker of Lorena and ten grandchildren, Bradley J. Sandlin, Karen Renee Bailey, Cynthia Saas, Pam LaPorte, Brooks Alton McKelroy III, Kim Davila, Becky Sotelo, Johnny McKelroy, Ernest McKelroy & Janet Ferro. Ina is also survived by twenty-four great grandchildren, thirty-two great, great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren on the way.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Ina Davidson requests that memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 309, Buffalo, Texas 75831.
