Ida Mae Reed was born on February 7, 1930, to parents, Jessie Wynn and Eugene (Barthley) Reed.
Mrs. Ida Reed was a lifelong resident of Leona and the Leona area. She and her husband, Odell Reed, had five children. She was a housewife, mother, and homemaker all of her long life. Mrs. Reed also worked outside of the home as a caregiver at a nursing home for many years. She was a longtime faithful member of Two Mile United Methodist Church. At the church, she served as the 'mother of the church.' She was a member of the Rising Stars, also known as the Starlight Community singers. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her children, Robert Reed (Jean), Helen Reed (Tony), and Larry Reed (Faye); her brothers, Henry Otis Wynn and Rev. Jesie Wynn; sisters, Magnolia Wilder, Pauline Polk, Della Johnson, and Florine Chambers; and her grandson, Larry Reed, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Sandra Donalson (Will) of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Tony Reed of Leona, Texas; brothers, Kenneth Wynn (Shirley) of Dallas, Texas and Earl Wynn of Dallas, Texas; sister, Mary Lankford of Lancaster, Texas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A homegoing service for Ida Mae Reed will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Two Mile United Methodist Church, Leona, Texas. Burial will follow in Two Mile Paradise Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
