Henrilois Haynie

July 29, 1917 — July 15, 2018

Henrilois Haynie passed away peacefully at her home from natural causes surrounded by her sons, David and Clyde, and daughter-in-law, Donna, two weeks before her 101st birthday on July 15, 2018.

Mrs. Haynie was born in Redland, TX on July 29, 1917. She was the second child of parents L.C. Wall, Sr., and Lola Neyland Wall. Her siblings were Valda Hardee, Margie Ellison, Wyman Wall, and L.C. Wall, Jr.

As a child, she attended Redland school and later graduated from Concord High School in Leon County, Texas. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin University and then her Master's of Education Degree at the University of Houston.

She married the love of her life, Norris Haynie, on October 6, 1944 at First Methodist Chapel in Houston, TX. They were married for 61 years. Mr. Haynie passed away on October 14, 2005.

Mrs. Haynie was a lifelong educator. She taught in Houston ISD for 31 years before moving back to Redland for retirement. However, she decided to teach eight more years for Leon ISD.

Mr. and Mrs. Haynie had two boys, David Dwight Haynie, born on September 1, 1946, and Clyde Milton Haynie, born on December 28, 1948.

Mr. and Mrs. Haynie attended Park Place Baptist Church in Houston. The most important thing to Mrs. Haynie was her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and telling others about Him. It brought her much joy when her friends and family came to follow Christ. One of the happiest moments in her life was when her boys, David and Clyde, gave their life to the Lord on the same day at ages 14 and 12.

When moving back to Redland, Mrs. Haynie enjoyed serving as a hostess for baby and wedding showers and funerals for her church, First Baptist of Centerville. Over the years she enjoyed shopping with family and even became an avid artist as a painter. After Mr. and Mrs. Haynie retired, they enjoyed going on summer vacations to the mountains with David and grandchildren, Dylan, Ashley, and Dwight. In her later years, she loved talking on the telephone to pass the time with her closest friends and family.

Mrs. Haynie was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband, all of her siblings, and great grandson, Hudson Norris Haynie . She leaves behind son, David Haynie, of Jewett, Texas, and son, Clyde Haynie and his wife, Donna, of Jewett, Texas. Grandchildren surviving include Dylan Haynie and wife, Shana, of Celina, Texas, Ashley Coker and husband, John, of Dallas, Texas, and Dwight Haynie and wife, Britni, of Cypress, Texas. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren whom she loved. She will be dearly missed by her family.
