Funeral services for Helen Ruth Adams, age 80, of Madisonville have been set for 11 am, Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Madisonville Funeral home in Madisonville. Lanier Stevens will officiate and burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. A brief visitation will be held before the service from 9 am until 11 am.
Helen Ruth Adams was born on April 7,1936 in Dayton, Texas to William Daniel Adams and his wife, Annie Lou (Coleman) Adams. She was a lifelong resident of Madisonville and a member of the North Madison Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and, through the years, worked several other jobs including working at the Dairy Delight; as a longtime Avon Representative and as an office worker at the Ferguson Unit at the T.D.C.J. Helen was preceded in death by her parents. She passed away at the hospital in Madisonville on January 28, 2017.
Surviving family members include a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Jo Ann Adams of Madisonville; two sisters, Mary Julia Adams and Dorothy Adams Starns, both of Madisonville; three nieces and a nephew, Beverly Newton and husband, Jay, of Groesbeck, Patty Walther and husband, Greg, of Madisonville, Kenneth Starns and wife, Lisa, of Midway and Debra Drake and husband, Bobby of Madisonville and several great nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral home.
