Gladys DeZelle Wilson passed away peacefully on December 8, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born June 3, 1924 to James and Nellie DeZelle, in Centerville, Texas.
After graduating high school at 16, she worked for General Lumber and IBM. She married F.C. "Fritz" Wilson on December 27, 1947. They lived quite a life: raising kids, traveling the world, and dividing their time between La Porte and Leona.
Gladys loved gardening, dancing, sewing, visiting friends, baking, and supporting her children's and grandchildren's many activities Gladys and Fritz were lifelong Methodists. Her last home was in Katy at Autumn Grove Cottages, where she was known as Queenie, Sleeping Beauty, and Momma.
Gladys was welcomed into Heaven by Fritz, son Michael, her parents and five siblings, and many friends and other relatives.
She is survived by children: Pam McNamara (Mike) of Trinity, Nelda Brooks (Craig) of Katy. Greg Wilson (Janet) of Leona. Grandchildren: Matt Alexander (Tatiana), Shane Alexander, Ashley Griffin (Sean), Megan Davila (Mike). Great grandchildren: Maya Alexander, Brooks Davila, and Wilson Griffin. And special nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Gladys' Life will be held on December 28, 2019, at Centerville United Methodist Church, at 11:00 A.M.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
