Gerald Lynn Burnett, Sr.

Gerald Lynn Burnett, Sr., 79, was called to his eternal resting place on March 21, 2022. He entered this world on February 24, 1943, in Lufkin, TX, born to Gene Burnett and Willy Mae (Blakeway) Cole. Gerald is survived by his spouse, Linda Burnett of Centerville; sons, Gene Burnett (Michelle) of Liberty Hill, Sean Burnett (Julie) of Normangee, and Jeffrey Burnett (Carrie) of Leander; stepson, Kenneth Swope (Denise Riley) of Akron, Ohio; daughter, Maylee Burnett of Centerville; and sister, Lynda Hughes of Houston; also, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; sons, Gerald Burnett, Jr. and Mark Burnett; and daughter, Jana Marie Burnett.

All of his friends and family knew him as “Jerry”. Jerry loved and spoiled his children and grandchildren. He built cars and raced with the older boys, then when the grandkids came along, he raced go-carts with them, he loved taking them all fishing.

As he got older, he started woodworking and built many beautiful things such as life-sized cars, trains, and trucks. His greatest joy was spending time with his kids and grandkids. Jerry was known as a “jack of all trades”. Jerry’s greatest joy was spoiling his kids and grandkids.

A memorial service will be held 3 P.M., Friday, April 1, 2022, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
