A funeral mass for J. Felix Almarz, age 76, of Madisonville, will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Madisonville. Interment will be in the Madisonville City Cemetery. A public visitation will begin on Friday, February 24th at 5 P.M. with a rosary following at 7 P.M. at the church.
Serving as pallbearers are Jesus Almarz, Heron Almarz, Pedro Almarz, Raul Alcala, Manuel Hinojosa, Kevin Almarz and Polo Aldava.
Felix Almarz was born on November 21, 1940 in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico to Juan Almarz & Maria Santacruz. He had lived in Madisonville since 1988 and made his living as a farm hand. Felix enjoyed his work because it allowed him to be outdoors. This is where Felix was happiest and would have rather been outside than inside any day. Felix was Catholic in faith. He passed away on February 22, 2017 in Madisonville following a lengthy illness. Felix was preceded in death by both of his parents and his daughter, Silvina Almarz.
Surviving family members include wife, Maria Cordova Almarz of Madisonville; sons, Jesus Almarz (Maria) of Madisonville, Heron Almarz (Nelli) of Houston and Pedro Almarz (Ericka) of Sioux City, IA; daughters, Victoria Almarz, Imelda Herrera and Lionorilda Salazar, all of Irving; twenty-two grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
