Evelyn Joyce Grimes

A funeral service honoring the life of Evelyn Grimes, age 91, of Concord, will be held 1:30 P.M., Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Burial will follow in Grimes Family Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service Sunday from 12 noon to service time at the funeral home.

Evelyn Joyce Grimes was born August 21, 1933, at home in Bays Chapel, Montgomery County, Texas to Marion A. Morris and V. Gertrude Stovall Morris. She graduated high school in 1950, in Richards, Texas. Evelyn married Druey Lee Grimes on November 12, 1950. Three wonderful, smart, and beautiful boys were born to this union.

Evelyn passed away November 23, 2024 at her home.  Preceding Evelyn in death were her parents; her grandson, Kerry; her sons, Richard in 2008, and Kenny in 2014; and her beloved husband, Druey Lee in 2014; three sisters; Oma, Myrtle, and Virgie; and two brothers, Eddie and Huey. 

Surviving Evelyn is her son, David Lee; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-n-law, Polly Sanders; and two daughters-in-law, Jane and Debbie.
